Factual Entertainment Showreel

Factual EntertainmentIt's OK to cry, if you want to...

FE lies in the hinterland between fiction and documentary. The content is unscripted but there is sufficient 'contrivance' to guarantee a weekly formula. Some formats are competitive - but we have created a 'Winners & Losers' showreel specifically for those. Examples would include 'Who Do You Think You Are', 'Embarassing Bodies', 'Supernanny', 'Wife Swap' etc. Following a format, the individuals being 'observed' usually go through an emotional journey to reach a state of enlightened conclusion.

1 Transformation Time [1:23] - David Gosnell Transformation Time [1:23] David Gosnell Strings, Woodwind, Celeste
A view into the lives of those who live in a world different to our own. At first glance they appear fortunate, but in reality are in a bit of a mess and need an expert to come in and offer some helpful advice - which in all probability they won't take. Sophisticated strings and woodwind joined by the obligatory FE Celeste.
2 Updraft [2:50] - David Gosnell Updraft [2:50] David Gosnell Guitars, Drum,s Mandolin Piano String Quartet
Starts with a simple piano theme joined in turn by Mandolin, acoustic guitar, drums and syncopated string quartet, building into a confident optimistic high energy rock track. A build repeat and final fade offer much opportunity to edit for Corporate, TV, Film, Sports, Website, Documentary or Drama
3 Cloudy Skies [2:54] - David Gosnell Cloudy Skies [2:54] David Gosnell Piano Strings
Haunting track for piano and strings. Speaks of loss, uncertainty, waiting for dreaded news and deep contemplation. Perfect both for drama, documentary or charity appeals with plenty of space for voice-over if required. Spatial, dreamy & atmospheric, with piano as solo and with strings.
4 Twinkle Toes [1:06] - David Gosnell Twinkle Toes [1:06] David Gosnell Classical Orchestra, Celesta Solo
The little elves are hard at work in the toy workshop and the fairies flit around the flowers adding the morning dew. A solo celesta weaves a 'sugar plum fairy' dance above a string and woodwind, creating a magical and ethereal atmosphere. Perfect for Christmas, fairy tales or reality tv make-overs!
5 Blessed Continuity [1:54] - David Gosnell Blessed Continuity [1:54] David Gosnell Piano, Chamber Orchestra
Whatever grand and dramatic events play out on the main stage, everywhere else, life carries on as normal. This track celebrates the continuity in everyday activities, sometimes happy, sometimes routine, sometimes unusual - but always present.
6 Neapolitana [2:07] - David Gosnell Neapolitana [2:07] David Gosnell Italian Wedding band (not the ring!)
You come to my house on the day my daughter is to be married - and I expect you to Dance! A traditional Italian Wedding dance which will work well for anything festive and Italian, whether it is a crime caper, travel or just pasta night. Great for drama, comedy, advertisement or documentary
7 The Decision [02:05] - David Gosnell The Decision [02:05] David Gosnell String Quartet, Alto Flute, Strings, Tablas
Between a rock and a hard place, our hero faces a difficult choice which he must make alone. He thinks over the options and finally reaches a decision and sets about his new course. Written for alto flute, string quartet and tablas. Suitable for dramas or documentaries where decisions must be made.
8 Septiq [02:20] - David Gosnell Septiq [02:20] David Gosnell Mixed Percussion / Acoustic / Electric Ensemble
Quirky ensemble piece in 7/4 with an upbeat groove. Edgy romantic or black comedy or children's fantasy drama. Fun, happy and festive with a twist. Lots of unusual percussion, driven by bongo/conga rhythm and jazz bass. Cool vibe for ads, corporate or film/tv.
9 Il Cuoco in Francia [1:39] - David Gosnell Il Cuoco in Francia [1:39] David Gosnell Orchestra, Mandolin, Solo VIolin, Solo Clarinet
Imagine yourself walking or driving in the Italian countryside, pausing at a local market to buy fresh food and vegetables before settling down back at your villa to watch the sunset. Perfect for advertising that car driving through deserted scenery or a travel programme - with space for voice-over.
10 Unusual Fruit [2:26] - David Gosnell Unusual Fruit [2:26] David Gosnell Piano, Zither, Vibraphone, Violin, Woodwind, Strings & Sound Design
Some FE subjects are true eccentrics. This individual has a unique world view, which although perfectly rational to them, seems to us a little 'off'. This is their soundtrack.
